ACADEMIC ADVISOR

The institution of the Academic Advisor is established under Article 35 of Law 4009/2011 (Series A, Issue 195), which states that: “The Academic Advisor guides and supports students throughout their degree programmes. The Internal Regulations of each institution shall determine the rotating assignment of Academic Advisor duties to faculty members and shall regulate any related matters.”

The Academic Advisor (AA) is a member of the Department’s Academic and Research Staff (DEP), regardless of academic rank, or of its Special Educational Staff (EEP) or Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP). The Academic Advisor provides students with guidance on course selection and assistance in addressing any problems that may arise during their studies. The same Academic Advisor remains assigned to each student until the completion of their studies. This provision also applies to students who have completed all the required coursework and are in the process of obtaining their degree.

At the beginning of each academic year, the Departmental General Assembly assigns Academic Advisor duties to members of the Department’s teaching staff for each newly enrolled student.
